Dave Molyneux is to make his return to the Southern 100 Races after quite a few years away. The track is still the same only the machinery has changed so Moly should take little time to bed himself back in.
For you all that will be at the event we hope to see you there and hope that this will give a little extra interest in what is a very competitive class at the event.
Follow the link below for News of the event.

Dave Molyneux Racing has the opportunity to Race at the Formul Two Sidecar World Cup Races sanctioned by the FIM as a World Cup it will bring the Formula Two Teams from around Europe to the Oscherslaben Circuit in Germany in August during the Speed Week and FIM World Endurance Races.
We need your help to get there with costs running at around £10,000.00 to compete at this Three Race event over the Week we would need Three engines to the required specification which differs froM TT Rules and our whole Team to be in Germany for the full week.
If you think that you can help then please contact through our contacts link at the bottom of this Blog page.

Isle of Man TT 2014 Sure Sidecar Race "B"

Molyneux Racing took to the track following the disappointment of a breakdown in Race "A" with an Ignition Coil failure, with changes made to the electric system and chasing Kawasaki for a Software upgrade we were using an untried package this week.

With damp conditions we were all apprehensive on the start line and at the drop of the flag Dave & Patrick went out at Number One going relatively steady on the first lap checking the conditions on the 37 3/4 mile mountain circuit and picked up the pace on the second lap whilst lying in second position behind Holden & Winkle.

Lap two took a twist in our favour with Holden and Winkle suffering a similar fault that we had in the first Race and Dave & Patrick took the Race by the horns and pushed hard recording the fastest lap of the Race.

Lap Three and Holden's problems continued with Harrison & Aylott slipping into second position but with Dave & Patrick pushing ever harder they were able to take the Chequered Flag

SURE Sidecar Race "B" TT 2014

TOP STEP OF THE PODIUM

Tuesday 3 June 2014

Following an extremely tough practice week in which we had an oil breather pipe clip break followed in the next session with a puncture we went in to the first race with a week that had also been shortened by weather conditions and a lack of track time meant that our engine set up was a little behind where we would have ideally wanted it to be.
The Race went ok with the first lap completed we were lying in a good second position and were hoping for the second half of the lap to come to us. at Crosby the Birchall Team took the lead on the road and with the bottom half of the course being our fastest sector Dave & Patrick pushed and re took the lead on the road going into Ballacraine. The Birchall's pushed hard to stay with the DMR outfit and came to an end at the Black Dub section in the middle of Glen Helen with an accident that left them in Hospital for observation and Ben needing an operation on his right hand.
Dave & atrick pushed on with a lead of 21.5 seconds at the end of the second lap and a lap that proved to be the fastest of the race at 115.538mph. This was a short lived joy as the engine had developed a misfire crossing the mountain section and would only reach the Hawthorn Restaurant with the misfire making the machine un rideable.
Thanks must go out to all of our sponsors that have helped us so far and congratulations must go out to Conrad Harrison and Mike Aylott who have been trying for many years to get their maiden win on the Mountain Course and also to Karl Bennett/Lee Cain, Darren Hope/Paul Bumphrey & Tim Reeves /Gregory Cluze who took the Manufacturers award for DMR.

For Wednesday we have a New ECU and wiring system that is hopefully going to prove more reliable and bring some success for the hard work that has gone into this years event.

Many thanks must also go out to the Marshalls Medics and Organisers who are there day and night to ensure that the event is run smoothly.
